I found a reason

Scene from a film; A woman stretches her legs upward as she bathes, watching the water drip down her legs. She rehearses conversations in her head, and attempts to recover from the disorder of her day. Little does she know, something waits to greet her reflection that will shift her mood from soft ritual to quiet grief. (2025)

She told me to get angry
I said,
“he never did anything to make me angry”
She said,
“make up a reason”
So i thought about it
It took a long while
But I found a reason to be angry

And now I’m angry

I’m mad at you for not wanting to be my man
when you told me that I was so very good
at making you feel loved
I’m really fucking angry with you
For accepting my devotion
and having the audacity to call it friendship
I’m pissed at you
for not loving me the way
I deserved to be loved
For letting go of my heart
Which is precious and worthy of admiration
I’m livid with you
Because you rejected my pure intentions
I’m rancorous
That you refused to hold on to me
when I stood before you, a lovable, darling woman
Earnest and brave with softness and care
I’m furious and I am resentful
Because you let go of my hand
when all I wanted was to walk beside you

I’m indignant and enraged
Because you couldn’t be bothered to work on yourself before you involved my delicate soul
I’m positively passionate with a painful ache
That you are unable to meet me where I am
And I’m infuriated by your lack of care
As you stumbled into my heart, recklessly without preparation and understanding

I am standing here,
the woman you said you still loved,
the woman you said made you feel seen,
Vehemently Incensed
because I offered you magic
And you chose mediocrity
